Moscow, Russia =)

From Novgorod, we arrived in Moscow late afternoon already, so after checking-in the hotel and dinner, we went straight to the famous Moscow Metro.  Our tour director picked a number of stations that we stopped at and they all have different architectural designs and all are amazing!  It's like walking along an underground palace in one station, then to a museum the next, etc.  The metro is bustling with people so we can't spend too much time admiring the designs and taking pictures, but it's really worth the visit. =)

The last station we got out from leads to the Red Square.  The Red Square is really beautiful at night, with St. Basil's Cathedral and the Spasskaya Tower lighted, and the GUM Department Store so bright with all the light bulbs.  We've also seen the Red Square by day when we went back the following day, the place showed a different charm by day than seeing it at night.

On our 2nd day in Moscow, we traveled to the town of Sergiyev Posad (formerly called Zagorsk) to visit the Trinity Lavra of St. Sergius, a monastery of the Russian Orthodox Church.  The churches inside the monastery was built in different centuries starting from the 1300s.   We went inside the Church of St. Sergius to admire it's intricate iconostasis, and continued to the other churches as well such as the Church of the Holy Spirit, the Holy Trinity Cathedral, the Assumption Cathedral, the Baroque Bell Tower, and the Cathedral of Christ the Savior.

The 3rd day, we visited the Moscow Kremlin together with a local guide.  There we saw more of the Russian churches like the Cathedral of the Archangel, Cathedral of Annunciation, Cathedral of the Dormition, Church of the Deposition of the Robe, and the Palace of Facets and Grand Kremlin Palace.  Check out this website for pictures. >>  Tour the Moscow Kremlin

After that, we went back to our hotel for dinner.  We've been eating European food for 2 weeks already, which made us miss Asian food and lucky we found a Korean restaurant in our hotel. ^^  After a satisfying dinner, we went out again to watch the Russian State Circus.  The circus was good, but I guess I expected too much, I'm used to watching the China circus who does so much better in acrobatics and exhibitions.

We leave Moscow the next day and head to Belarus! ^^
