Baguio City ^^
Baguio City is in the northern part of the Philippines. It's called the Summer Capital of the Philippines because it's situated in higher lands that made the climate there a bit colder than other parts of the Philippines, which made people visit the city in summer when they can't handle the heat in Manila anymore.
We drove from Manila to Baguio for about 6 hours, but don't fret because they have planes going to baguio too which will only take you around 45 minutes to get there. =)
We spent 3 days and 2 nights visiting the places and though we didn't get to visit all Baguio has to offer, it's a very nice visit nonetheless. ^^ First we looked for a hotel, we didn't book in advance because we want to make sure the hotel will have enough parking space for our car.
We first visited SM Baguio for it's view deck where you can see the most of the city with cool air blowing on your face. Then went to the market place where we bought some fresh fruits and vegetables. We don't have enough time to go to Benguet for strawberry picking so we just bought some strawberries in the market. =)
Next day, we went to the Lourdes Grotto. Lots of people go there to ask for favors. You have to climb more than 200 steps up to reach the image of the Virgin Mary on top. Our next stop is the Bell Church, it's a Chinese Temple with nice pagodas and villas.
We also passed by Mines View Park and bought the ever famous Ube Jam (Purple Yam Jam) from Good Shepherd. You can also buy other local goodies there and help the orphans go to school because part of their profits are given for scholarships.
We also visited The Mansion, the official residence of the President of the Philippines every time they visit Baguio city. Just on the opposite side of The Mansion is Wright Park where you can enjoy horse back riding even for kids. On our way back to our hotel, we passed by Baguio Botanical Garden, Baguio Cathedral and the Burnham Park. Then finally, dinner in a restaurant in Session Road. ^^
It's a nice short trip with my whole family so I'm really thankful. I always pray that the Lord will keep us together and love will keep our family in harmony. ~
